Kiauna & Chris Married!

I met Kiauna & Chris just about a week ago, they just had a photographer bail on them with less then 2 weeks before the wedding and they were desperate to find another. I felt right away that I had a good connection with this sweet couple and their 2 young kids. I couldn't wait to be a part of their special day.

They had planned an outdoor wedding in a gazebo at a local park with the reception following at the hall that is on the same property. The bridal party would be dressing in the hall and then walking down a long path and across a cute little bridge over a lake to the gazebo. That was the plan, then remnants of hurricane Issac happened. While the area desperately needed the rain it sadly moved the wedding indoors.

The rain didn't put a damper on their spirits however, nor did it diminish the beauty of the bride or the love they have for each other. Getting married was the main thing and that was accomplished. Of course the rain stopped and the sun peaked out just as the ceremony started which allowed us a brief photo shoot in the park for the bride & groom and their large party.

Congratulations to Kiauna and Chris! May your family be blessed!

Military Engagement

Since the young man in these images is in the military I wanted to keep their identification private (no pun intended). For that reason I blurred out the name on his uniform and will just be referring to them as bride and groom. :)

I met this bride on a stormy evening at a Starbucks way to packed to be conducting business very easily. Her parents came with her to this consultation where we booked their wedding and engagement pictures. While we were meeting (outside) it started to rain so we ended up sitting in the families big Chevy Suburban to finish filling out contracts and forms. It was pretty nasty outside and even though it wasn't much of a walk to my car her dad insisted on driving me to my car when we were done, where he told me to buckle up and be very careful.... I love caring Dads!

I met later that week with the bride and groom (and her parents) to do their engagement session. I've photographed at this location before (its a common photography place) but it was fun finding new places to take them to shoot.

We started out with the groom in street clothes.

The bride joked that this stairwell was a "killers stairwell" it was kinda creepy looking.

After posing in street clothes we headed inside for them to change.

The Brides mom requested a picture of her and her husband, I was happy to do it for them.

Finally we took a few more photos, after a 2hr photo shoot and over 200 images later we called it a night!

It was so much fun working with these two... Um I mean four..... I can't wait for their wedding which is a short time away in Sept.

Congratulations and Thank you young man for your service!

Ashley & JT Engaged!

We met Ashly and JT at our April bridal show, we had a drawing at our booth for a free engagement session and they were our winners! (Actually we drew a couple of names out). We met up on a very hot evening to try and get some pictures of the lovely couple at the Country Club Plaza in MO.

The Plaza as its known was very busy which is typical for the weekend. The first parking garage we agreed to meet at was full and we had to move to another one. Thankfully we found each other without much trouble.

Ashley and JT were such a joy to work with, the love for each other was evident in every picture. This photo shoot was so easy for me as they had a lot of idea's they wanted to use and they were having such a good time with it pretty much all I had to do was stand back and take pictures. They were also very willing models and indulged in some of my idea's as well.

Here are just a few of their very awesome pictures from that shoot.
