Family session

I met this lovely family at the place where they board out their horses. The horses actually belong to his parents but they enjoy riding them as well. I was super excited to do this photo shoot because I used to ride (10+ years ago or more) and have always had a love of horses. These horses were bigger then what I had been used to working with but they were very sweet and amazing to work with.

The couple had the cutest little boy who insisted on riding by himself while holding the reins. If you could have seen how gentle this massive horse was while the child was on his back was remarkable. Horses are such an amazing creature and I was so blessed to have been able to capture this family and their horses.

After this amazing session the family was kind enough to offer to allow me to ride! It felt so good! It has made me realize how much I have missed riding these last few years. They were so thrilled with the results of these adorable pictures!

Melissa & Jeff: 1yr anniversary!

I met Melissa and Jeff through thumbtack.com, I'm really starting to love that website! I couldn't have asked for a better couple to work with.

Our adventure started when we arrived at a park just to find that it was closed due to preparations for a fall festival this weekend (oops!). Finally after a few calls to get suggestions for more parks in the area (we were both not familiar with the area) we decided to head to English Landing park in Parkville MO. This waterfront park turned out to be the perfect setting for some great pictures. This lovely couple were celebrating their 1yr Anniversary and wanted to capture the love they still have for each other. They had a very unique picture request. They wanted to have a silly string fight, I'll have to admit I wasn't sure how well that would turn out on camera but I thought it was a fun creative thing to do. The pictures turned out amazing! Great idea! And a great way to show their fun loving nature.

Family Session

I met Heidi and her family on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to take some family portraits. This was a fun family photo session. Thanks so much to the lovely family for everything!

Corey+Ashley=Engaged!

I met this lovely couple after submitting a quote on Thumbtack.com. We met at Starbucks for me to show them my portfolio and to talk with them. After getting to know them a little bit I offered to do a "try me before you buy me" session. This is something I've started offering to wedding clients, here's how it works.
I will do a free engagement session for them, post the pictures on my website for them to see. This gives us both a chance to get to know each other and see if our personalities match and it gives them a chance to see my style and see how they like my work with THEM in the pictures. If they like it and decide they are going to book me they pay their deposit, sign the contract and if an engagement session is part of their package (in this case it was) they get the CD and print release. If they decide I'm not the photographer for the, I completely understand. If they decide they still want the CD then they pay my engagement session fee and I send them the CD and print release. This was actually the first "try me before you buy me" session but it worked out really well! By the end of the evening they had said they were ready to sign the contract and pay the deposit! Hooray!

This sweet couple was a blast to work with! I love their personality and her country nature! I feel this session really gives you a sense of who they are as a couple. It tells their story, engagement pictures of them together in an city setting would not have captured who they are.
